Use the one hand to hold the eyewear. With the other hand you insert the hook on the side shield into the slot on the temple. Then slightly push upward to make sure the hook slides into the slot. Next you push the side shield towards the temple tip until you hear a click, indicating the side shield is locked in place.
To remove the side shield, you slide the side shield down / away from the temple tip until you hear a click. Then you firmly rotate the shield down and out.

By adding the side shields, an extra layer of protection is added to secure your vision, and with the side shields on, the eyewear now meets the ANSI Z87.1 and EN.166 optical standards.
